Talk about being real...

Next step on the way to being real is having your own passport. This time I'm much more clever and technology has moved on swiftly since we tried this with Emma (remember we were flying to the UK to find a home when she was 7-8 months old). If you have ever tried to get a passport photo of a 13 day old infant then you will know what frustration can result.

But today Leo was in the most co-operative mood you can imagine. So here are the steps to create a passport photo for one so young.

1. Lie him on his back on a bed with white sheets (ensure he is wide awake and in a good mood!)
2. Take a great many photographs while trying to make him look at the camera and keep his hands out of the frame
3. Find one good photo out of the set
4. Use the great (and pretty cheap) program from OnTheGoSoft called PassportPhoto. It costs only $9.95 and will crop and centre etc. for various standard passport and ID photo sizes
5. Print out the result

I think you'll agree that this has been a pretty successful exercise for a 13 day old!
