Leo Comes Home

I suppose it was inevitable that we should have inflicted upon us one final dose of relative inefficiency and slow movement at Kingston Hospital. Emma and I arrived at about 15h45 to take Lara and Emma home only to find that somebody had forgotten to put Leo's name in a book so the paediatrician had not checked him. And then when she did there was a slight concern over jaundice. This in turn led to a blood test which should take 2 hours to come back. But of course even once it was back (and fine) it took another 2 hours for the discharge process to be completed. Emma was very bored, very tired and very hungry by the time we left at about 20h30. She was also very good indeed.

Leo's first night home was much as one would expect. Lots of feeding, quite a bit of niggling etc. But it is now 08h06 on the morning after and I've just dropped Emma off with Allison to go to school. Lara and Leo are still sleeping so hopefully Lara is making up for the times he woke during the night. At least we know this is all temporary and will settle down...

Luckily today (Wed) is the last day of term so no homework. And she was SO patient waiting around for that long. A very big and good girl!

The inefficiency factor sounds just like home!(in SA).Glad the jaundice was not an issue, Leo is so cute, if ever you need an Au pair, give me a shout I can come in the varsity vacs, the long ones are from mid July to early Aug, and mid Nov to mid Feb.Love Kerry.
P.S. Lara, Gran would be so proud of you, and Pa would just shake his head and say "kids, koons, and crows!" while pulling what little hair he had left out!(But deep down you know, he loves kids and secretly would want to get his hands on Leo asap, to share some of his wisdom on wierd things, and tell him that he also wears a babygrow at night, as he has told all of us, then Gran will give him "the look" and say shhh Basil!)
