Emma's Distinction

I overlooked an important piece of news that many of you already know by now. Emma's music teacher phoned us this week to say that Emma has passed her Grade 1 clarinet exam with a distinction. This is an exceptional achievement, particularly given that Emma only started playing during the summer school holidays.

It has to be said that the run-up to the exam was tense at times because to succeed one has to practice and Emma sometimes has to be helped to keep this in mind. But she has been dedicated and has shown a natural ability and inclination for this particular instrument.

Next term she starts preparing for Grade 2 but will be taking it a bit easier than during the intense preparation over the last term. So more time for fun...

Well done Emma! And thanks to Stacie for this photo taken during her visit in November.
