Sylvanian Families Outing

The craze among many young girls in the UK is currently for Sylvanian Families. They are miniature animal families (think Beatrix Potter) and there are hundreds of types. Lara and Emma had the brainwave that for Emma's birthday party she could have an outing for herself and some similarly afflicted friends to the only Sylvanian Families shop in London.

This morning at 10am we met a number of the Sylvanian afflicted girls at Teddington station and made our way to Finsbury Park in North London where the shop is located. Lara had arranged snacks for on the train and a voucher for each girl at the shop. They could also each bring along some (pocket) money of their own. It was very amusing watching the very serious exercise in pondering and arithmatic as each girl figured out the best value for money she could get.

The shop itself is filled to overflowing with Sylvanian Families paraphernalia. While we were there many other girls came in with their parents to spend their pocket money or just to browse. And some come from pretty far!

Afterwards we went to a local Pizza restuarant and then made the journey back home across London. All of the girls behaved impeccably as did Leo who completely lost out on the routine we've been working so hard to establish over the past 2 weeks.

In the photo are Lucy, Saoirse, Emma (with Leo), Kitty, Susanna and Tynika against a backdrop of just some of the array of Sylvanian Families "stuff".
