Denise (Samuel) has kindly sent me this photograph of an oil portrait she has of Sara Fredanus painted when she was (apparently) about 16 years old. Unfortunately the portrait itself is in need or restoration and the photo is not the greaest (Denise is going to try again). I don't see a huge family resemblence except perhaps in the downturned eyes?

How did she come by this portrait, I wonder. I think you can see a little bit of Lynn Wilkinson in it.
So is this who we can thank or "the down turned eyes" ..... how did Denise get hold of it???
