As you all know, booking flights to South Africa every year is a right of passage for me. Usually it does not take getting back to life at work to get my blood pressure up; it only needs two phone calls to British Airways with their ridiculously stingy Executive Club system to do it.In order to help reduce my stress I've booked our outbound flights for December 13 2008 now and not been fussy about anything. The return date is likely to be around 5 January but bookings have not opened so far in the future yet so that will still need to be changed from the current 22 December.
The plan for now is to fly to Johannesburg and spend a few days with the Atkinsons (if they will have us) and hopefully see Nana. Then on to Durban for the rest of the Christmas holiday.
All subject to change as I say. I'm still trying to get Premium Economy seats (only Economy available with accompanying stringent luggage allowance etc) and dates might be refined a bit over the next 12 months. And before you ask, April is still a big question. Right now I don't think we can afford a trip to South Africa in April, a holiday in the summer and then another trip to South Africa in December. Pure cost aside I don't have that much holiday available to me.
