Two different photos from two different occassions. In both Leo is engaged in his favourite pastime which is observing insects. Usually it is spiders (his favourite though he makes no verbal distinction between spiders and ladybirds; both are called spiders). This time he managed to find a rather large beetle in the back garden and in the front garden he loves to watch the bumble bees that come to the lavendar plants on sunny days.
I'm sure he is going to love going on some expeditions with Grandpa when we are next in South Africa.

and when his new cousin is old enough he can prob teach him/her a thing or two. if the nursery is anything to go by, this baby will also love bugs and stuff as that is the theme we have chosen to stimulate him/her in the early days.
A boy after grandpa's hear, too. Heilie Sorour also said that you should never ask a Van Gelder what they had in a box 'cos it was probably some bug or other
